Prime Time Family Reading Program
|
The Prime Time Family Reading Program is a partnership between ULEM, the Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities and the Boston Public Library. This literacy program seeks to develop a love or reading in children ages 6-10 by:
- helping parents feel comfortable reading to their children,
- providing a "special" time for children to spend with their parents, and
- encouraging both parents and children to actively use their public library.
Activities include: Provide books for reading; Train staff to read the stories and conduct follow-up discussions; Offer a story hour at Public Libraries; provide role-modeling for conducting follow-up discussions; Orient parents and children to the library resources.
