Parent & Youth Services

ULEM's Parent and Youth Services programming includes resources for children, parents, and family members focused on academic, social, and emotional development of youth. PYS programs range from parent workshops to out-of-school time programs including:

Camp Atwater
Camperships are provided to young people during the summer months for recreational, physical fitness and social development. ULEM subsidizes up to 50% of the fee for 20-25 youth to attend a two-week session at Camp Atwater in North Brookfield, Massachusetts. Camp Atwater is the nation's oldest African-American summer camp owned and operated by the Urban League of Springfield in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Community Mobilization
The Community Mobilization Empowerment Project is a four-year program of the Parent and Youth Services Department of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts (ULEM) that is generously sponsored by the Gillette Company. The purpose of CMEP is to help parents improve their children's academic performance and social development.

Prime Time
The Prime Time Family Reading Program is a partnership between ULEM, the Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities and the Boston Public Library. This literacy program seeks to develop a love or reading in children ages 7-12.

The 360 Series
